Callantsoog area
Callantsoog is a pleasant tourist resort, at the North Sea beach with a lively village centre with cozy cafes, restaurants and terraces. During the season there is a fair every Wednesday and there are regular weekend events such as country fairs, fun fairs etc.
In the vicinity there are many beautiful cycling and walking routes. You can use our modern hire bikes to explore the area.
Trips
From Callantsoog you can make several interesting trips in the area; you can visit the West Frysian market in Schagen or the famous cheese market in Alkmaar, but also Fort Kijkduin in Den Helder (a historical fort built by Napoleon) and the island of Texel are all easily accessible from the village and worth visiting.

By car from Alkmaar
Via the N9 in the direction of Den Helder.
After about 20 km: turn left, direction Callantsoog. Just before reaching the centre of Callantsoog, cross the car park and you will see Strandhotel De Horn.By car from Den Helder

By train to Schagen station
From Schagen by bus route 152 to Callantsoog.
Get off at the first bus stop at Callantsoog.
Walk a short way in opposite direction to the car park, cross the car park and you will see Strandhotel De Horn.
